It had a generous helping of volume in the nose and low, soft rails that concluded in a flyer swallow tail. There was also a vee concave through the tail to help with lift and squirt off the bottom. From my first wave it was evident that this board had no issues generating speed.
[BACK SOON] RETRO ROCKET
This Retro Rocket originated in 1990 and was designed for Danny Wills, Guy Walker and a bunch of other pro surfers. The idea was to make a shorter, slightly wider performance board that made dynamic surfing easier in everyday conditions.
This model was arguably the first ever hybrid shortboard, and now its back with some adjustments to the design and volumes to better suit a wider range of surfers.
The Retro Rocket has a slightly wider nose outline and a round tail which allows you to bury the rail and still get length out of your carves and turns. The tail is narrow enough to punch through the pocket while providing the perfect amount of hold at higher speeds. The medium rocker curve is also designed to strike a balance between speed and manoeuvrability.
Featuring the latest in stringer-less EPS/Epoxy technology, Bi-Axial Fiberglass cloth, a solid glass job and the FCS II system. The Nev Retro Rocket is ready and waiting to rip and is a perfect choice if you want to take your surfing to the next level.
